Created in 1993, Cape Greco National Forest Park is a wonderful area for hiking, climbing, cycling and water sports like diving and swimming. Located in the southeast of the island, Cape Greco National Forest Park is home to many rare species of plants and animals. Spanning about 385 acres, the park offers visitors many cycle and hiking paths, picnic areas and observation sites. If you love diving, there are dive spots with up to 40 meters depth, and caves to explore that can reach over 70 meters into the rock face. Marine life here includes rays and moray eels, damselfish and groupers. One of the shorter trails, the Aphrodite Trail, leads to the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to the Goddess Aphrodite. It takes about 50 minutes via the A3 motorway to reach Cape Greco National Forest Park, starting off from Larnaca.

A 42 minute drive takes visitors to Nicosia, where the Cyprus Museum is located. It displays all of the island's history, taking visitors on a journey from the Neolithic period (Room 1) to the time of the Early Bronze Age until the Romans arrived (Room 14). The oldest museum on the island opens at 8.00 am every week day, and closes at 6.00 pm most days. But one doesn't have to go into a museum to see Nicosia's ancient past. Walled fortifications still surround the old city. First built in the early Middle Ages, these walls were later completed in the 16th century, when Cyprus fell under Venetian rule.
